2 Samuel 5
David Becomes King

Good Morning Brothers and Sisters in Faith.
As I have read through these chapters and the studies of Israel and of King Saul and David, my mind and heart are turned.  I want to turn away from David for this day, if I may.

These following verses keep coming to my mind each day so I hope to share them with you.
From 1 Timothy 2:1-3.
First, I want you to pray for all people. Ask God to help and bless them. Give thanks for them.
Pray for kings.  Pray for everyone who is in authority.  Pray that we can live peaceful and quiet lives. And pray that we will be godly and holy.  This is good, and it pleases God our Savior.

Paul said first, put this a the top of your pray list- pray for ALL people.  Our brothers, sisters in Christ, neighbors, co-worker, friends and family- ALL people Next, for kings, EVERYONE in authority over us!
David ruled in Israel over 30 years.  During his reign we can be sure that the people of Israel did not always agree with him, but they prayed for him.  We too, must pray for our leaders.  Agree with them or not, it is our responsibility to pray

Each Sunday in our worship guide, there are names for us to pray for through out the week.  I ask you to add to that list and pray for our President and his staff, our Representatives in Washington and Austin.  Our Mayor, county commissioners, Governor and our local house members.
TODAY they need our pray and support, not the criticism you might hear from the media.  Pray that we can live peaceful and quiet lives.

As we have studied through Samuel we can see that the children of Israel had anything but peaceful lives.  We should all pray that good will bring peace to us and quiet.  So we can focus on Him and not all the noise and confusion that may be around us.

Psalm 55:16-18
As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.
Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.
He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.
Amen and Peace.            —- Bill B

113:7)        —- Solomon Liu
