Psalms 132:1-18; Ezekiel 36:1-37

  Psalms 132 Key Verse: Psalms 132:16
  Let us go to his dwelling place, let us worship at his footstep…

  Continuing on the song of ascents, Psalms 132 is a plead for remembering David and his people/city. David was unrest in finding a resting place for his Lord and God. On the way up to the temple/Jerusalem, Hebrew worshippers are reminded of God’s faithfulness and His promises – righteousness, salvation, and joy. What about us today? There’s a hymn playing in the background helping us to pray:

Hymns #358 Living for Jesus
  O Jesus, Lord and Savior, I give myself to Thee,
  For Thou, in Thy atonement, didst give Thyself for me;
  I own no other Master, my heart shall be Thy throne;
  My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ, for Thee alone.

Ezekiel 36:1-37

  Key Verse: Ezekiel 36:26

  I will give you a new heart and put a renewed spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

  Jerusalem had fallen; Israelites were captured and scattered. Ezekiel’s message in chapter 36 is of hope and comfort.  The Sovereign God will restore Israel for His holy name, so that all will know that He is the Lord. We also, are blessed with this hope and comfort through the work of His only son – received a renewed spirit so that we can lead a life that is pleasing to Him. A holy one.

  (Leviticus 11:44b) consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy.    — Ivy Lin
